CCMI Wedding Day Q&A
We’re here to help make your day special – and we want nothing more than to see you and your guests have a positive and memorable experience.
Here are some questions – and answers – that couples have asked in the past to help you plan your perfect event.
1. What is allowed in the Outdoor Ceremonial Space?
The outdoor ceremonial space is a magical place to share your vows. It is by nature rustic, and we’d like to preserve that special quality for others to enjoy. You are welcome to place a decorative arbor in the space and hang and drape lights using the floor electrical box. You can cover the benches and drape cheesecloth on the railings for a less rustic look. The use of candles, rice, confetti, sparkles, glitter, silly string and anything flammable or synthetic in the space is prohibited. You may provide your guests with rose petals, dried lavender, or similar biodegradable plants to toss. Please ask our Wedding Coordinator if you have any questions.
2. We’re planning to have our ceremony outdoors, but what happens if it rains?
The outdoor space is open and exposed to the elements, so we recommend having a Plan B in mind in case of rain. We will help watch the weather and communicate with you about the location of your ceremony. Please be advised that guests may have to sit at their dinner tables, depending on the size of your wedding. If it has been raining, expect the space and benches to be wet or damp. You can cover the benches with plastic, or a quick, easy option is to use Saran Wrap. Simply roll it out over the wet benches – it actually sticks! Adding the element of clear plastic umbrellas provides a truly PNW vibe to the space.
3. What is provided with our rental?
Dining tables (round and rectangular), chairs, and day-of coordinating services are provided with your rental. You will be required to bring in linens, flatware, plates, and any other rentals you desire.
4. Are there any hidden fees or minimums?
No, there are no hidden fees or minimums. The price you see on the webiste is the price you are going to pay. You can add on additional hours (not always guaranteed), additional cleaning services, or floor plan change between days if you book a two day rental.
5. What if we are not religious or part of the LGBTQ community?
Everyone is welcome to celebrate their love at CCMI; we do not discriminate. All love is welcome in our space.
6. Are there any venue requirements?
If you are serving alcohol, you are required to purchase a banquet permit with the Liquor and Cannabis Board. All wedding renters are required to purchase a wedding liability policy to protect yourselves.
7. Do you have any alcohol restrictions?
We do not have any alcohol restrictions.
8. Do you require any specific vendors to be hired?
No, we do not have any vendor requirements. We are very flexible and can work with anyone!
9. Can our guests smoke anywhere on the property?
CCMI is a non-smoking facility and smoking is prohibited anywhere indoors, on the patios, decks and outdoor ceremonial space. If you know you have guests who smoke that might wish to take a break outdoors during your wedding, please let us know. We can place yellow buckets with sand for the safe and tidy disposal of cigarette butts in the parking areas. Keep in mind, you are responsible for the disposal of any cigarette butts left behind on the outdoor sidewalks, flower beds and parking areas.
10. What kind of indoor decorations can we use?
We ask that you use only removable sticky tack when decorating indoors. Do not use staples, pushpins, Scotch tape, masking tape or nails. There are hooks along the tops of the walls and windows that can be used to hang decorations or drape lights. Painter’s tape may be used to mark locations on the floor. Do not attach or drape any decorations to or from the chandeliers. The following is not allowed inside the building: Glitter, rice, confetti, silly string, hay, dance wax, fog, dry ice or smoke machines.
11. What’s permitted for our wedding sendoff?
You are welcome to use anything that can be easily cleaned up (which is your responsibility). We recommend using bubbles or sparklers, but please make sure they are used only outdoors in wide open areas. Used sparkler wands must be collected and disposed of properly in a fire-resistant container. Rice, confetti, silly string, glitter, sparkles and anything else unnatural or synthetic is prohibited anywhere on the property indoors or outside.
